Blushing Bows

How much time do you spend caring for your hair and face? How about in choosing your outfit? Do you find that by the time you’ve done all that, there are some aspects that get neglected? For me, it is, admittedly, my feet. While I make sure to groom and manicure my fingernails, my toes are often left with chipped polish and last season’s colors. Similarly, I sometimes forget the impact that shoes have on the entire outfit; Carrie Bradshaw would have some scolding words for me I’m sure! In fact, shoes can “make or break” an outfit. With so many high profile shoe designers out there these days (Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo) as well as design houses that have their own line of shoes, there is an endless selection of exquisite shoes to choose from. Even though most of us cannot break the bank for the perfect pair of pumps, there are many commercial retailers that take their design cues from the runways (Aldo, Steve Madden, Town Shoes). So the next time that you’re planning on hitting the town (or hey, galavanting to the grocery store is just as good of an excuse!), try coordinating your outfit from bottom to top for a change! Above is a selection of shoes in this season’s color palette ~ femininely embellished with bows, how could I resist? The top row is a romantic take, making me want to twirl around in taffeta and tulle while the edgier second row proves that bows are not just limited to the “girly girl.” If you have a weak spot for such accents, Valentino is the ultimate designer…If you are a blushing bride, looking for the perfect shoe to accompany your Vera Wang (see previous post for more!), check out Badgley Mischka’s stunningly romantic line of special occasion shoes.
