Frozen Eyelashes = Runny Mascara

And we are finally back after an extended break! We hope you had a wonderful holiday and a great start to the new year! When these pictures were taken last week, it was so cold that my eyelashes would freeze outside then melt indoors, resulting in the said runny mascara. Not a fun time. This week Calgary has been blessed with a chinook and we’ve had some sunny and warmer days.

Poncho: F21; wool tights and skirt: market in Korea; moccasins: Chief Laurentian; Olympic hat: Aritzia (last year); driving gloves: Little Burgundy; cashmere scarf: Club Monaco

The poncho is from a maybe-twice-a-year trip to F21 earlier this month. I’ve always been partial to capes and ponchos– I love all the billowy room they provide while being warm and cozy. They are great worn as an alternative to the big knit cardigans we’ve been seeing. Wear them casually with skinnies, a tee, and furry boots or dress them up with a skirt, lace top, and leather boots.

Leopard print cape: Dorothy Perkins; Reindeer cape: See by Chloé; Funnel neck military cape: Asos; Oatmeal military button cape: Dorothy Perkins; Wool and leather cape: 3.1 Phillip Lim; Military wool cape: Matthew Williamson

Have a terrific weekend!
